A permanent protection for oil and acrylic paintings with a lasting matt finish to prevent reflection. The varnish retains its flexibility and appearance on canvas so it won’t crack, become brittle or yellow with age. Not suitable for use on watercolour paintings. PICTURE VARNISH - SATIN Final Varnish.
It is recommended you test spray on a sample before you begin. Make sure the surface is clean and dry (for oil paintings, this could be as long as 6-9 months), then shake the can well and hold 20-25cm from the surface at a 45º or 90º angle and spray side-to-side, overspraying at each side. Then turn the work around and spray the opposite way to ensure adequate coverage. Apply 2-3 thin layers as required. The varnish can be removed with turpentine for re-painting and re-varnishing.
